I will be eternally grateful to Mirja for her choice of moving to our community and opening up an art studio. For a couple of years, I was trying to learn how to paint and couldn't find anyone who would teach me how I wanted to paint. Between getting more confused and going backwards, I was ready to totally give up until someone mentioned Mirjas studio to me and after meeting her and signing up for beginner lessons, I am really amazed at myself for what my paintings are looking like for such a short time of learning. Even the first painting through the beginners class is still a keeper. The other classes I took as well as the open session drop-ins I have continued with have made my improvements quite noticeable and it's a really good feeling when someone says nice things about my art. They state that I must have some artistic talent and I tell them that I don't but with learning basic skills, pretty much anyone can paint. So, until I am finished with Mirja, there is no way will she be able to move out of our community during the next decade or two.
